SandBrook
General Store & Post Office Circa 1907
The current Victorian style building, that at
one time was the SandBrook General Store and Post Office, was built after the
original store on the lot burned down in 1900. Samuel F. Fauss bought the lot
and two years later, built the combined store and dwelling. From 1911 to 1924
the store was kept by Frank Johnson, who was also postmaster. In 1913 the
property was conveyed to Edith A., wife of Frank Johnson. They conveyed it to George
Reomlin in 1924. In the 1930's Frank Yasunas ran the store and he was also the
post master.
The original store and post office, before it
burned was founded by Charles W. Moore and was located in the shop east of the
bridge. Joseph Fauss followed Charles W. Moore in the operation of the store.
George Holcombe proceeded Andrew Bearder who was the occupant when the store
burned down.
